Gregory A. Karpstein
Mr. Karpstein graduated from Oregon State University in 1968 with a B.S. in General Science. In 1973, he received his Juris Doctorate from Lewis and Clark School of Law in Portland, Oregon. Mr. Karpstein has been a member of the Oregon State Bar and practicing law since 1973, and became a member of the Federal Bar in 1974.
Mr. Karpstein founded Karpstein & Verhulst, P.C. in 1981 with his partner Steven Verhulst, who has since retired. Mr. Karpstein has over 40 years of experience handling a variety of cases, including completing over 500 adoptions. Over the past 40 years, Mr. Karpstein has focused his practice in the areas of Adoptions; Estate Planning, Probates and Wills; Criminal Defense; Juvenile Law; and Family Law.
Throughout his practice, Mr. Karpstein has also focused on being an active member in the community. He has volunteered his time at the St. Andrew’s Legal Clinic, is a former Board Member of the Valley Catholic School in Beaverton, and currently serves as a Pro Tem Judge in Washington County. He is also a member of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association and the Washington County Bar Association.
Mr. Karpstein has been recognized for his excellent work throughout his career. In 2010, he was awarded the Professionalism Award from the Juvenile Law Section of the Oregon State Bar and in 2013 he was given the Professionalism Award from the Washington County Bar Association.
